| Vero's energy engages any room with the emotional honesty of her lyrics and sultry vocal delivery. The disciplined fury of her acoustic guitar, charming wit and humorous sarcasm has shocked and enlightened listeners throughout over a decade of performances! Born to a Spanish father and Argentine mother, Vero spent her early years in Queens, NY., listening to Tango, Andenian Folklore, Gypsy Songs and Waltzes - It is there where her heart lies. Soon after the release of her full length debut album titled "Christopher" 2007, with contributions from legendary drummer Cindy Blackman ( Lenny Kravitz ) , bassist Jason Mercer ( Ani DiFranco, Ron Sexsmith ) & cellist Jane Scarpantoni ( Indigo Girls, Nirvana ) , Vero has been hard at work re-establishing and recording a whole new genre that she refers to as "Folk Noir"; Characterized by rhythmic driven guitars, marching rolls, explosive trombone riffs, crying violins, and bandanion melodies over a bed of dark lyrics that leave us in awe. |
